Half-soldered, half cut! I've been channeling my quilt-making cousin, Pat... these larger pieces have been so much more enjoyable to cut than all those itty-bitty ones at the bottom of the tail. I'm going to solder the mid-section separately, then include some reinforcing tape between these two sections, and another above the mid-section. Still working out the coloration between the mid-section and the body/head of the bird, but I've totally worked out the hanging mechanism (not sleeping much -- the princess-bride-daughter is getting married in 3 weeks... :)
